ATTENTION BASKETBALL FANS!! The 4th Annual JMH Memorial Tournament has been modified due to the winter weather advisory. Thursday morning games will be played at 10:00 AM and 11:30 AM as scheduled. All Thursday, Jan 9 afternoon and evening games have been postponed to Friday, Jan 10 at their regularly scheduled times. Second round games will be bumped to their regularly scheduled times on Sat, Jan 11. The final round will be played on Monday, Jan 13. The Championship rounds will be regularly scheduled and the Consolation games are TBD. Stay tuned to our website, www.chelseadragons.net, for updated brackets and tune in to our YouTube channel for the livestream of each game if you cannot make it in person.
Tomorrow, Thursday, January 9th all middle school students and staff will be attending the JMH Basketball Tournament to cheer on our high school Dragons and Lady Dragons. We will head to the gym at 10:00am. Students will have a sack lunch from the cafeteria tomorrow to eat during the games. Concessions will be open and students are welcome to bring money. We will return to class after the games. Reminder: we will be virtual on Friday, January 10th. Teachers have passed out assignments for Friday and have posted the assignment in Google Classroom as well. Many students have already completed the virtual work. Students are welcome to turn the assignment in early. Virtual work is due on Monday, January 13th. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Wilson at 789-2521.

Exciting News! Kindergarten Library Adventures Begin! Starting this Friday, January 17th, our Kindergarteners will embark on a special adventure! Every Friday at 9:00 AM, we'll be taking a bus to Art Goad’s Library. These 45-minute visits will be a fantastic opportunity for our young learners to:
Discover the Magic of Libraries: Learn how to check out books, explore the shelves, and find exciting stories.
Get to Know Their Future School: Familiarize themselves with the Art Goad Library and the school they'll be attending next year. One member of the First Grade staff will join us each week sharing a favorite book. By the end of the year, students will be familiar with their new school and new teachers.
Enhance Classroom Learning: These visits will complement our classroom learning and foster a lifelong love of reading as well as lessen their worries about their new school. We're thrilled to offer this enriching experience to our Kindergarteners! Get ready for some exciting library adventures!

College and Military Fair @ NE Tech Pryor Campus on January 31st from 9:30-2:00. CHS will provide a bus for all students interested in attending. We will have lunch in Claremore so students will need money. If they would prefer a sack lunch please indicate that on the form. Forms are available from English teachers Mr. Haggard and Mrs. Mariezcurrena or from Counselor Dawn Sallee. Forms are due Monday!!!
Many of our students know that Mr. Darren Jones resigned at semester to pursue other opportunities, but the great news is that we are bringing back a familiar face from last year. Welcome back Mr. Brady Haggard!! If you took English II or III with Mr. Jones, Mr. Haggard will be your new English teacher!!

Aiden Blackburn is our State Champion in the Central Region Super Smash Bros Ultimate Solo Tournament. He competed against over 300 students in Oklahoma over the past two weeks and won the champion matches on Wednesday December 18th to claim the title of State Tournament Champion. Congratulations to Aiden for a great tournament and showing for our program.
Two things are happening tomorrow, one is extremely special. We get to celebrate Art Goad's 90th birthday! You can join us tomorrow morning 7:50. We will start in cafeteria and then move to library once students head to class. This is an incredible moment to honor the educator our building is named after.
We will also continue our Polar Pals breakfast and shop. We were blown away by the turn out this morning. We have more items in stock and will be getting another delivery mid morning.
