Art Goad students had a fantastic educational experience! Incorporating the solar eclipse into various subjects like reading, geography, and science helps students understand the event from different perspectives and deepen their learning. It's great to see teachers finding creative ways to engage students with real-world phenomena.

Last week Zoology and Stem had guest speakers from Trece, Inc out of Adair. They spoke to STEM about renewable energy and made solar powered cars; and entomology and pest control with our Zoology class. Thanks Trece for sharing your knowledge and expertise with us!

Bio 2 recently had an assignment to write a book over science processes for the Elementary students. Thanks Mr. Anderson for allowing us to read to your class!

We have extremely talented students at CMS. Miss Kylee Kam brought some of her sweet treats to the CMS staff today. This girl could win any baking competition! Thank you for spreading kindness Kylie.

The junior high baseball game scheduled for this evening has been canceled.

Middle school will be going outside for the eclipse tomorrow afternoon. We have eclipse glasses for every student. Students may bring a blanket or towel to take outside to sit on. If you do not want your child viewing the eclipse, please contact the middle school office at 789-2521 to let us know. The middle school baseball game scheduled for today, April 2nd, is canceled, with hopes of rescheduling at a later date.

Today, Mrs. Shoate and Mrs. Wilson met with our current 6th and 7th grade students to show them how to complete the online elective course request for the 2024-2025 school year. Parents can now login to your parent portal to review student course requests and make changes if needed. Attached are instructions on how to access the schedule request section in the parent portal. Mrs. Shoate and Mrs. Wilson will be more than happy to meet with any parent who needs help with this either in person or by phone.
We also met current 5th grade students today to talk about middle school and take a tour. We will be meeting with 5th grade students soon to walk them through the elective course selection process. 5th grade parents, you are welcome to use these same instructions to login to your students parent portal and select their elective courses, or you can wait until we meet with students to discuss each of the elective courses in more detail.
We are a phone call or email away if you have any questions or need any help. We are excited to move our schedule requests to online this year. As with anything new, there are sure to be a few glitches, but we will work through these as quickly as they arise.

All Juniors will be checking in Chromebooks and chargers for state testing on Wednesday 4/3 and the Chromebooks will stay in their assigned testing rooms through next Tuesday 4/9.
