We're excited about our upcoming Breakfast and Book Fair! Signup forms were sent home on Monday, and we've had an incredible response so far with many families already registered to join us for breakfast. Please note, the deadline to sign up for breakfast is September 16th, so we can provide an accurate head count to our cafeteria manager. If you miss the deadline, you're still welcome to join your child at the Book Fair!

Ms. Moore's Humanities class learned about 9/11 today by making timelines of the events and details of that September day in 2001. She also covered the events of 9/11 in her 6th grade ELA classes. "The purpose of teaching about 9/11 is to help students grasp the historical context and understand how this event shaped the United States, from changes in national security to the way communities came together in response to the tragedy. By exploring the lessons of courage, resilience, and unity that emerged from this event, students can better understand how our society responds to challenges." Ms. Moore is not only a teacher, she is also a Navy Veteran. She works diligently in her classes to teach students empathy and compassion. Thank you Ms. Moore for serving our country and our kids!

We had our first Family and Community Impact Team meeting tonight, and I want to thank the parents, community members, and staff who joined us. Your incredible ideas have set an excellent foundation for moving this team forward. Our next meeting will be scheduled sometime in October, and we don’t want you to miss it! Amazing things are happening at Art Goad Elementary! On a side note: Kimber, I love the shot Mrs. Willcut got of you introducing yourself!
